Challenging position for a qualified and confident Statutory Planner with one of Melbournes most densely populated and culturally diverse metropolitan municipalities, home to extensive arts, entertainment, sporting, retail and eating precincts, wide ranging community events and activities, and a vibrant atmosphere its residents are proud of.
Joining a busy team of dedicated planning professions, you will be responsible for assessing and processing a range of complex permit applications for residential and commercial developments within principal activity centres of this lively municipality.
To be considered for these roles you will demonstrate the following:
- Tertiary degree in town planning or similar
- Solid understanding of Victorian planning schemes and the development approval process
- Previous experience in a similar statutory planning role
- Ability to effectively and efficiently prioritise workloads and juggle the challenges of the role with limited supervision
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to integrate information and write clear, concise reports to deadlines
- An awareness of current trends impacting on town planning
- Experience representing council at tribunal and liaising with other municipalities
- Positive work ethic
