Conveniently situated in the northern suburbs, close to public transport and the Eastern Freeway, this merchandiser supplies into major retailers, branded consumable products ranging from home wares to clothing. Due to an internal change we seek to appoint an assistant to the buying & import team.
What you will be doing in the role:
o Coordinating & administering ????? ????? - communicating with overseas suppliers & forwarders
o Arranging sea freight or airfreight for product & associated documentation
o Advising payment of logistics accounts and issue accurate invoices based on confirmed orders
o Entering ????? ????? and confirming manufacturing ????? ????? timelines with overseas suppliers to ensure deliveries are on time
o Work with the buyers and support administration functions
Due to the nature of the business, you will be key in ensuring ????? ?????'s often tight deadlines for product delivery are met. It may be that the client has ordered a product that is being sold via a catalogue or they are ordering ????? ????? special promotional event. You will need to be organised and have the ability to influence others in this role!
What else will you need for the role?
o A highly administrative background with exceptional attention to detail
o A strong command of English is paramount
o An ability to organise, work with deadlines and prioritise
o A passion for dealing with overseas suppliers
o Knowledge of international logistics processes and basic accounts will be valued
o Highly organised and able to prioritise tasks
o Can work under pressure, especially during ????? ????? shipping & buying demand
You will love working as part of a team and not mind having a bit of fun on the occasion. If you are looking for a great team, a flat structure where everyone is involved located close to home in the East and you enjoy working with detail, then this could be the right role. Unfortunately, if you are wanting to accelerate up the corporate ladder, then this role is not ideal.
The position will initiate you into a long term career path in overseas buying for consumable products. A starting package of 43-48K will be offered dependent on your level of experience.
