Our client is a leading national contractor in the underground coal sector. They are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to manage a coal drivage contract in the Illawarra region. 

Reporting to the General Manager some of your responsibilities are: 

• Managing all aspects of the project 

1.     Creating and executing project work plans

2.     Identifying resources required

3.     Day to day operations management

4.     Manage recruitment and other personnel issues

5.     Enforcing project standards 

• Safety results 

1.     Track and report take 2’s, BSO’s, Critical task observations

2.     Identify opportunities for improvement and implement them

3.     Investigation of accidents 

• Project Accounting  

1.     Ensure project costs are managed in compliance with client requirements

2.     Analyse project profitability 

• Business Development 

1.     Identify business development opportunities

2.     Maintain a thorough knowledge of contract details 

• Communication 

1.     Facilitate team and client meetings

2.     Conduct status meetings with project team

3.     Deliver informative presentations

4.     Regular update on project to senior management 

• Leadership, Teamwork and Client management 

1.     Effectively utilise each team member to full potential

2.     Identify and mange career development of team members

3.     Motivation of team

4.     Manage day to day client operations

5.     Develop lasting relationships with clients personnel

6.     Evaluation of alternative business solutions

 

 

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

·         Qualifications

1. Must have previous Project management experience
2. Statutory mining qualifications are preferred
3. Experience in a development project

·         Skills, Knowledge and experience

1.     Highly motivated

2.     Strong communication skills both verbal and written

3.     Sound understanding of computerised project management systems

4.       High understanding of the critical elements of a project

5.       High level understanding of best practice and how it is applied to projects.
