This business is part of a larger, privately held group and has a long history as a quality service provider to the underground coal mining industry. Precision engineered products service the domestic market through an east coast branch structure including Emerald, the Hunter and the Illawarra. International markets are serviced through global distributors.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer of the broader group, your critical tasks will be threefold: firstly, work with the CEO to develop a comprehensive business plan across markets, people, budgets and operations: secondly, provide high calibre leadership which engages the team, sets the culture and clarifies expectations: and thirdly, assertively represent the business to it's domestic market and global distributors and re invigorate demand in a way that delivers resource optimisation and business growth.
This is a complex business with an R&D base and elements of design, local manufacture, import/assembly and evolving global distribution frameworks with their attendant supply chain management issues. As such, you are commercially astute, understand the need for fiscal discipline and are passionate about quality, both product and service. You possess a combination of engineering and commercial qualifications and business and/or marketing leadership experience in comparable environments. This could stem from the client side, engineering consultancies and general providers of engineered products. The common denominator is extensive experience and respect in the sector.
