    Due to internal promotions we are currently accepting applications from Senior Mining Engineers for a leadership role at an open cut coal mine in New South Wales Hunter Valley region.

    Company / Site / Location Details:

    This medium sized open cut coal mine produces around 5Mt of thermal coal per annum.  The site employs both dragline and truck/shovel mining methods.  The operation has a significant mine life.  Employees at this site reside in a vibrant local town.  The mine is close to town and has all the facilities and amenities.  The town is approximately 2 hours from the NSW coast.

    The position is with a reputable company that promotes from within and the creation of this role is a result of internal movement.  You will be given opportunities to transfer to other sites in Australia, into corporate positions and travel overseas as well.  You will also be given excellent training, allowing you to development professionally.

    Position Purpose / Duties:

    The purpose of this position is to provide high quality planning services to operational personnel and to ensure mine plans are being adhered to.  This role will maximise coal extraction through efficient production and contribute to safe mining methods.  This position has responsibility for short, medium & long-term planning at the mine.

    Specifically your duties will include but will not be limited to:

    • Supervising & mentoring ????? ????? team of mine planning engineers
    • Creating mine plans & schedules
    • Liaising with production personnel & communicating plans effectively
    • Monitoring & reporting on actual production results
    • Ensuring ????? ????? reconciliation is completed in each mining area
    • Ensuring ????? ????? and Individual Development Plans are in place for all direct reports
    • Demonstrating a commitment to safety and an achievement culture in behaviour at all times

    This role reports into the Technical Services Superintendent

    Required Skills & Experience:

    To be considered for this role you will require:

    • Tertiary qualifications in Mine Engineering
    • Significant experience in open cut coal mining
    • Strong understanding of mine planning practices
    • Leadership skills
    • Effective communication skills
    • Proficiency with mine planning software packages

    Remuneration / Rewards:
