Are you a 2nd year apprentice chef that wants to take their career to the next level? MEGT currently have a position available for a 2nd year apprentice Chef in the Hunter Valley. You will be working with the best in the industry learning a contemporary Modern Australian menu with a French influence, taught in a multi-award winning restaurant, which will enable you to become a top rank in your trade.
The successful candidate will possess good food knowledge, have a passion for food and cooking and be willing to learn. Punctuality, exemplary attendance and the ability to follow instructions promptly are necessary to succeed in this trade. This position entails weekend work with 2 consecutive days off working a minimum 40hr week and a car and license is essential.
Your duties may include but are not limited to:
- preparing ????? ?????, salads, stocks, sauces and soups,
- preparing ????? ?????, fruit, and eggs dishes,
- selecting, preparing ????? ????? poultry, seafood and meat,
- preparing ????? ????? cold desserts, pastries, cakes and yeast goods
- mise en place
- general cleaning and prep
