  • The Royal Agricultural Society of NSW (RAS) is seeking a Media & Public Relations star for its Coordinator role to assist with the RAS Media & PR campaign across a number brands including the Sydney Royal Easter Show, the Sydney Royal Wine, Dairy and Fine Food Shows, Sydney Showground.

    This contract role of up to six months, offers a fantastic opportunity to work directly with metropolitan, rural/regional and industry specific media around Australia.
     
    Assisting the Media & PR Manager you will help devise and deliver several key launches in the lead up to and during ????? ????? Royal Easter Show and the Sydney Royal Wine Dairy and Fine Food Shows. You will assist in all aspects of media relations by researching and preparing ????? ?????, providing timely and accurate responses to media inquiries and maintaining effective working relationships with key media contacts.
     
    You will also have the opportunity to work on one of Sydney’s largest events spaces, the award winning Sydney Showground, which comprises 20 unique venues hosting a range of business exhibitions, conferences and gala functions.
     
    The role is based at Sydney Showground at Sydney Olympic Park and involves assisting with the development and implementation of the above campaigns. With 2 - 3 years media and PR experience you will be able to demonstrate ability to undertake the media and administrative duties and event logistic requirements of this role.
     
    The successful applicant will have excellent verbal, written, organisational and time management skills. A proven background and demonstrated ability to implement effective proactive public relations or media strategies will be highly regarded, as will event or launch logistics experience.
     
    A tertiary qualification in public relations, communications or related discipline is required. The applicant will be proficient in Microsoft Office 2003 and Excell. As with all PR roles, deadlines and the associated pressures are part and parcel of what makes this opportunity exciting and such a fabulous challenge.
     
    While standard hours are 8.30am to 5.00pm there will be a need for a high degree of flexibility as you will need to work outside these hours during ????? ?????.
     
    An understanding of the RAS and the Sydney Royal Easter Show is advantageous but not essential.
