An exciting opportunity exists to join Sydney’s most successful venue as part of the team that looks after over 300 events a year at Sydney Showground. 

With a number of large events coming up, including Telstra 500 V8 Supercars, Big Day out and the Sydney Royal Easter Show, the Food and Beverage department is looking for Casual Function Supervisors.

 

The successful applicant will provide a broad range of services including the coordination and supervision of functions and events.

This is a “hands on” position and involves the set up and delivery of a wide range of catering ????? ?????.Cocktail parties, fine dining functions, conferences and major events all fall within the scope of responsibility for the position of Function Supervisor.

 

To be successful in the position, you will possess a high level of interpersonal and communication skills in liaising with clients and managing staff at all levels.

 

You will need to have at least 2 years relevant experience in a similar role. As a supervisor, it is critical that you have sufficient employment experience working within functions and/or events, along with a demonstrated ability to work independently without supervision and as a member of a large work group. You will need competence in the supervision of a food & beverage function, together with a great attention to detail.

 

In addition you will need the ability to work flexible hours including regular evening work as well as weekend work.
