Gift and Homewares Australia (GHA) is a national member-based organisation, founded in 1978. GHA represents thousands of businesses in the gift and homewares industry, from owner- operators to large corporates.
GHA’s role is to assist our members, promote and operate industry trade fairs and to provide our members with the business agreements and advice they need to assist them in their business decisions. Our member base has over 1500 full member companies and 2,100 associate members across Australia.
An opportunity has become available in the Member Solutions team for a highly motivated person to drive the growth of membership across both Full and Associate categories. The principal focus of the role will be to target and approach potential new members, retail chains and suppliers through the application of telephone based selling and account management techniques.
In addition to telephone sales you will also be tasked with activities in the following areas:
• Selling new membership benefits to potential members and clients
• Assisting Trade fair sales and new Full member exhibition opportunities
• Providing product and service based offerings to new members
• Promoting GHA event activities to increase and secure suitable attendance figures
• Outbound lead generation activities aimed at achieving member targets
• Cross selling member benefits to existing users
If you are confident, able to communicate, have an understanding of business in particular the gifts and homewares sector, able to work as part of a team and achieve targets this could be the opportunity for you.
We would expect you to have 3+ years previous experience in a customer service environment, preferably at a senior sales level. We are also looking for someone with proven selling skills and results, who has good working knowledge and use of Microsoft Office software packages.
CRM database systems knowledge is essential and previous experience in support roles to Business Development staff will be highly regarded.
