SQL Database Administrator

The Database Administrator, whilst responsible for the database administration and support of critical applications within customer environments, will primarily be working for the projects team delivering ????? ????? project services.

This role will be required to establish and maintain database standards and procedures, including backup and recovery procedures.

Objectives / Deliverables;

Cost effective specifications and designs that implement user requirements.

Delivery of services as per project requirements.

Software support services delivery in accordance with the Logica quality requirements and service delivery methodology.

Incident handling and response within KPIs.

Fault diagnosis and rectification within KPIs

Key Skills;

MS SQL Server 2000 / SQL Server 2005 / SQL Server 2008.

5+ years database administration experience.

Strong documentation skills essential.

Strong operational background in production support.

Excellent database capacity and database tuning skills.

Excellent trouble shooting skills.

IT degree or equivalent or Industry accreditation preferred.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Highly Desirable;

SQL Server 2000 / 2005 / 2008 Clustering ????? ?????.

SQL Server 2005 / 2008 Database Mirroring ????? ?????.

SQL Server 2000 / 2005 / 2008 Log Shipping.

SQL Server 2000 / 2005 / 2008 Replication (transactional / merge / etc).

Data Transformation Services / SQL Server Integration Services experience.

Performance monitoring ????? ?????.

SCOM experience or equivalent.

ITIL Foundation skills.
