  • beyondblue: the national depression initiative is a national not for profit organisation working to increase awareness and improve treatment of depression, anxiety and related substance use disorders and reduce the associated stigma. 

     
    The Public Health team develop, implement and manage projects related to depression and anxiety in a wide range of population groups and settings. We are currently expanding our work in the organised sports setting and aim to build on successful partnerships and activities already underway with a range of sporting bodies from the elite to grass roots levels. As such we are seeking an experienced Program Manager to join the team in the exciting new role of Program Manager Sports. 
     
    In this role, you will develop an overall strategy for beyondblue’s engagement with the Australian sports sector as a setting to deliver beyondblue messages.  Another key focus of the role will be management of specifically defined projects within agreed timeline and budget parameters, from initial planning and identification of key stakeholders through to implementation and final evaluation. In addition you will:
     
    • Research and analyse areas of interest in the organised sports setting and propose related programs of work
    • Prepare project reports, briefings and discussion papers and recommend and implement communication strategies to present findings in the most appropriate context
     
    To be considered for this role you will be tertiary qualified in Public Health, Health Promotion or a related discipline and have at least 5 years experience managing projects/programs in a related field. You will also have:
     
    • An in-depth knowledge of sport as a setting for delivery of programs from elite to grass roots levels
    • An ability to apply Public Health policy and principles to achieve business aims and objectives
    • Highly developed stakeholder and relationship management skills
    •  Excellent strategic planning capabilities
