The Aboriginal Employmeny Strategy (AES) is a not-for-profit organisation that specialises in placing and mentoring Aboriginal people into employment. We work with Aboriginal people who want to make a change in their lives.
The AES is the vehicle for Corporate Australia to engage Aboriginal people; we are the link between business and the Aboriginal community. Our corporate partners include some of Australia's largest companies as well as local busineeses in your community.
Job Description
The sucessful candidate will be reporting to the Manager, Financial Business Support. Your core responsibilities will involve general ledger control and reconciliation, cash flow reporting, accounts preparation, variance analysis, account coding, asset project reporting, month end and budget and forecast preparation. Also, to ensure that financial and accounting reports are developed and prepared for management.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in leading Month end processing
- Manage general ledger control and reconciliation
- Manage account coding within accounts procedures
- Generate cashs flow monthly reports
- Generate monthy health reports
- Conduct a variance analysis on accounts monthly
- Assist in preparing budget and forecast preparation
- Assist in preparing financial statements for annual audit
Knowledge, Experience & Skills Required:
Essential:
- Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Descent
- Excellent accounting skills
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Good time management skills
- Degree qualified
- CA or CPA qualified (undertaken to do)
- At least 3 years experience in Accounting
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to travel
- Drivers licence
