About the Opportunity Due to expansion of services,
Gippsland Lakes Community Health (GLCH) has a fantastic opportunity for an
Alcohol & Other Drugs Generalist Counsellor to join its team in Bairnsdale.
Working as part of the Family, Youth and Children Services (FYCS) Unit, you will
provide a responsive and accessible service assisting with crisis counselling for people across all age groups and diverse backgrounds, addressing issues such as anxiety, depression, bereavement, relationships, family violence, complex trauma and self harm. The successful candidate will be rewarded with
attractive total remuneration based on the SACS Award, circa $44,000 - $57,000 (commensurate with skills, experience and/or qualifications).
Salary packaging options will be made available, which allow employees to receive a portion of their salary in a form other than take-home pay.
In addition to this, the organisation offers each permanent employee the opportunity to reduce the tax payable on their income in the following ways:
- Meals expenditure - a maximum of $5000 deduction from an employee's taxable earnings, which is reimbursed directly to the employee;
- Remote area housing - this is based on 50% of the interest paid on your mortgage for your principal residence in East Gippsland; and
- Notebook computer - a deduction from an employee's taxable earnings for the purchase price of one notebook computer per annum, which is reimbursed directly to the employee.
