About the Organisation Gippsland Lakes Community Health (GLCH) is a high profile health service provider in East Gippsland that is noted for its extensive range of health and community services, its ability to provide services to the most disadvantaged communities, and its championing of the social model of health.
About the Gippsland Area Bairnsdale, the western gateway to the Lakes and Wilderness region of East Gippsland, still retains the quiet country pace and fresh air that you don't get in a bigger city. On the banks of the Mitchell River, Bairnsdale manages to retain a unique atmosphere as the commercial and administrative hub of the region.
With a population of approximately 12,000, Bairnsdale is only a 3 hour drive from Melbourne, which means that high city life is still within easy reach. Boasting a full range of modern facilities, major city shopping and a great variety of accommodation and eating houses, Bairnsdale is an ideal base from which to enjoy the many natural attractions and curiosities of the stunning surrounding country.
