Social Worker - Family Relationship Advisor

  • Centacare is the lead organisation in partnership with City of Greater Geelong, Glastonbury Child and Family Services, MacKillop Family Services and Relationships Australia for the operation of the Geelong Family Relationship Centre. Family Relationship Centre’s are an initiative of the Federal Government and are the cornerstone of the new family law system throughout Australia.
     
    This Centre has been established for two years and provides an excellent and modern working environment with a cohesive team of staff.  Family Relationship Advisors provide intensive intake, assessment, counselling and support services.  They spend time with families to identify barriers to successful relationships, to strengthen parenting and prepare for the dispute resolution process.
    • Would you like an opportunity to support and assist families to strengthen their relationships?
    • Do you have a working knowledge of family relationships post separation coupled with relevant qualifications?

    We are seeking candidates who have expertise in assessment and single session counselling with skills in communication and decision making who can respond quickly and effectively to client needs.

    The successful applicant must have:
    • Degree in Psychology or Social Work or relevant tertiary qualifications
    • Be eligible for registration with the Psychologists' Registration Board of Victoria or membership of the AASW 
    • A Victorian driver's licence

    The successful candidate must also be prepared to complete a Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.
