Our client is a large Global petrochemical company based in the Geelong area. They seek the services of an enthusiastic & high calibre Laboratory Analyst to work in the Environmental &/or Production testing sections of their laboratory.
This position would suit an experienced QA Chemist, but would also be an ideal opportunity for a recent Science graduate or current undergraduate.
The position is available now, but could start in November after end of year exams.
Reporting the Laboratory Manager, you will work within a team that is mainly responsible for the sampling, testing & reporting the quality of petroleum products, process streams and environmental samples. Accurate and timely testing of these samples is essential to ensure that both regulatory and NATA requirements are met. As well as assisting with laboratory housekeeping, other possible duties of this position include assisting with laboratory calibrations and the preparation & standardisation of solutions.
The successful applicant may have the opportunity to be involved in other laboratory work dependent on their skills and capability.

• Completed Bachelor or Diploma of Science/Laboratory techniques or be a current undergraduate.
• High attention to detail & high focus on quality of results.
• Adaptable and flexible - able to assist wherever required and quickly learn new techniques.
• Able to deliver accurate results and prioritise work to meet tight deadlines.
• Good computer skills.
• Good mathematical skills.
