The Deakin Medical School is seeking expressions of interest from enthusiastic individuals for Clinical Skills Tutor positions for 2010.
Clinical Skills Tutors will facilitate teaching in the areas of history taking, physical examination, communication skills and basic procedures in a dedicated Clinical Skills laboratory across Year 1 and 2 of the program. These positions are suitable for graduates of medicine with good interpersonal skills. A clinical loading will apply. 1st Year tutorials are held on Wednesdays, while 2nd Year tutorials are held on Tuesdays. Each tutor will work with a small group of students for the duration of the tutorial (2 hours), with a 30 minute break between each tutorial. The day is broken into 3 sessions with the first tutorial commencing at 10am and the last tutorial finishing at 5pm. Tutors will be asked to nominate whether they will be available for one session, two sessions, or all day teaching (3 sessions).
