OneSteel's Southern Middleback Ranges mines in excess of 1 million bcm per month, and you will be in charge of production! This newly created, exciting role is a great opportunity to apply your superior communication skills and demonstrate your passion for outcomes.
This role has primary responsibility for the daily production coordination of activities associated with our mining contractor. You will interface with their senior and operational staff on a daily basis, to ensure budget production and safety targets are achieved. Thus, your superior interpersonal skills will be evident from day one.
To be successful in this role you will already have some production experience in a medium to large scale open pit mine coupled with your tertiary mining qualifications or extensive experience if you are not tertiary qualified. A Mine Managers Certificate will be highly regarded.
The key accountabilities for this role include:
- strong focus on safety, including incident investigation
- ensuring statutory environmental requirements are met
- production forecasting
- inspection of pits, dumps, roadways and
- infrastructure contractor coordination.
You will quickly be able to gain an intimate knowledge of the “mine plan” and understand how to manage outcomes to ensure production capacity is maximised.
You will never have a dull moment in this role as your ability to problem solve, co-ordinate and manage activities will always be challenged. This role does require travel between various pits and a vehicle will be provided.
