OneSteel’s mine is an integral part of our fully integrated, global steel manufacturing, distribution and finished product business and we need you to be part of the drive for further productivity and reliability. This role is ideal for a results focused individual who likes to drive improvements and make changes happen.

OneSteel’s capabilities include materials (mining and iron ore sales; recycling); manufacturing including value-add steel products; and distribution with a strong steel distribution network and niche market positions both nationally and internationally.

The crushing and screening plant, and ore beneficiation plant need your skills to improve reliability by improving performance, decreasing costs and unlocking the capability of these important OneSteel assets. You will take ownership of the engineering improvement and asset strategy development and provide technical support to maintenance personnel.

You will be working with a wide range of engineering and process professionals, from recent graduates to those with extensive experience. The team is cohesive, supportive and open to new ideas and changes that will improve results.

In essence you will have a significant operations and supply chain focus with experience in converting ideas into installed solutions. You will provide plant performance troubleshooting and work with the maintenance leader in diagnosing and rectifying technically difficult equipment issues.

You will have:

  • relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering
  • extensive experience in heavy industry or manufacturing environment
  • demonstrated leadership experience in a large scale manufacturing business.

These qualifications and experience will enable you to actively be involved in the business planning and improvement process; input to budgets and financial forecasts; and analysis of the condition management and maintenance systems.

The iron ore mines are located approx 50 kilometres from the town.
