FIELD QUALITY CONTROL TECHNICIAN

As the company expands its product and technical capacity, we are currently seeking an experienced Field Quality Control Technician for our Queensland sites, based at the Bowen Basin, but with extensive travel involved, working a 5 day week, Monday to Friday.

Position responsibilities include:

• Continually promoting and supporting a positive safety focused and health conscious culture

• Managing Audits and overall quality control requirements within area of responsibility

• Managing compliance with ISO 9001/2000, ISO 9002, ISO 14001etc as required.

• Managing the field Technical Monitoring ????? ????? effectiveness.

• Ensuring ????? ????? and audits are conducted as required for area of responsibility

• Ensuring ????? ????? and Traceability Standards are adhered to.

• Ensuring ????? ????? control coaching is provided to personnel to ensure QA/QC standards and calibration requirements are followed and improved.

• Mentoring ????? ????? better understanding of Quality Control in the field within area of responsibility

• Adhering ????? ????? Policies and Procedures and Statutory regulations, standards and guidelines as required

• Ensuring ????? ????? relationships are developed, maintained and enhanced with site personnel and the technical team

• Ensuring ????? ????? and financial targets are met within designated area of responsibility

• Clearly recording and reporting all findings to Supervisors and Technical team as required

• Ensuring ????? ????? comply and are conducted within the standards and guidelines outlined in the Downer EDI Mining IMS/PMP

• Promoting continuous improvement in areas of responsibility

• Understanding current developments and trends in all relevant technical/professional knowledge areas

• Exploring ????? ????? possible opportunities in their area of responsibility

The successful applicant will demonstrate:

• Significant relevant industry experience, preferably in a variety of mining sectors (eg general blasting, underground, coal, iron ore, quarrying).

• Sound Quality knowledge and demonstrated understanding of relevant legislation and compliance and risk management issues

• Excellent successful People Management Skills

• Ability to develop strong long term working relationships with personnel & Managers

• Outstanding interpersonal skills (written, verbal and listening)

• Strong Chemical and engineering ????? ?????, including an ability to accurately interpret data, plan and schedule.

• Attention to detail

• An ability to work independently

Applicants will possess relevant experience, preferably within a Blasting Services environment, with a strong understanding of open cut mining, and preferably drill and blast activities.
