The St Vincent's Community Health Service Homeless Health Team
provide essential medical, nursing and allied health support to the
local homeless community. Services are provided across a range of
settings including St Vincent's Hospital, Homeless Support agencies
and through street outreach.
We are currently seeking a self-motivated Registered Nurse to join
our Community Outreach Medical Emergency Team (COMET), providing
assessment and care to clients suffering ????? ?????-acute medical
problems. This role also incorporates supporting those clients with
chronic health issues, health promotion and a facilitating access
to appropriate health services for the homeless population.
Essential Criteria:
- NSW Nurses Registration List A with three years post
registration experience.
- Current NSW Driver's Licence.
- Demonstrated high level clinical nursing and problem
solving skills.
- Demonstrated capacity to communicate effectively.
- Demonstrated interest in and understanding of issues
relating to homelessness.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a
multi-disciplinary team.
- Demonstrated capacity to work with people from diverse
backgrounds including culturally diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to work with a range of key stakeholders at the
community level.
- Computer literate in Windows environment.
- Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the
Mission and Values of the Sisters of Charity and St Vincent's
Health Australia.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience in working with homeless services or community
health services.
- Cannulation / IV therapy skills.
- Wound management skills.
- Understanding of Mental Health and Drug and Alcohol issues
and services.
