Clinical Trials Coordinator - Medical Oncology
Registered Nurse or tertiary qualification in health sciences with Oncology and/or Research Experience
Part-time hours (flexible)


The St Vincent’s Hospital Medical Oncology Research Unit is a busy area undertaking a variety of clinical trials for commercial and collaborative group studies. A part time position as Clinical Trials Coordinator in the unit is now available for a 12 month contract subject to renewal with continued funding. The suitable applicant will be a registered nurse or have a tertiary qualification in health sciences. The role includes the set up, management, recruitment, collection of data and documentation of information required for clinical trials in accordance with Good Clinical Practice Guidelines. Also provide quality care and education to patients participating on these trials. Interaction with health professionals from a variety of disciplines, both internal and external to the hospital will be required. Previous Oncology and /or clinical trials experience is highly desirable, however training will be provided.

  • 12 Month fixed term contract with the possibility of an extension.
  • Renewable subject to continued funding.
  • Grading as applicable. 

Essential criteria: 

  • Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge and skills in Oncology and/or Research.
  • Demonstrated ability use own initiative.
  • Time management skills/ability to prioritise workload.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Mission and Values of the Sisters of Charity and St Vincent's Health Australia.

Desirable criteria:

  • Understanding of ICH-GCP, privacy laws, regulatory and ethical issues in clinical research.
  • Computer literacy
