The Bureau of Meteorology is seeking a skilled IT professional to work with a small team of software engineers, to develop, maintain, document and support weather forecasting and data display systems.   

The occupant will be developing mission critical software which is used by the Bureau's Severe Weather forecasters in support of events of significant importance to the Australian community.
 
A degree in Computer Science or Information Systems is highly regarded along with experience in Java, object-oriented programming, graphics, Linux and Unix.
 
Possibility of a non-ongoing position in a similar role becoming available for a two year contract.
