We are currently seeking a Project Specialist to join a team based in the Northern Territory within the Network Construction division. In this role, you will provide end to end Project Management of specific network infrastructure construction projects that traverse a broad range of technologies, including, Transmission, Wideband, Wireless, Mobiles, Next IP with accountability for all aspects of delivery across all impacted stakeholders.
Key Accountabilities:
- Responsible for the preparation/completion of regional end-to-end projects to appropriate quality standards within time, cost constraints as well as meeting contractual requirements within the agreed budget.
- Project manage regional projects / programs of work for the PDM Workgroup in accordance with Matrix II processes and PIMBOK.
- Engage project team members and manage deliverables to achieve project objectives.
- Report on project deliverables against the project plan, escalating unanticipated variations in time, quality or cost for approval.
- Manage project stakeholders by regular reporting and ensure that they are regularly informed of project progress to achieve business objectives.
- Communicate and ensure understanding of agreed project objectives to own project team.
- Identify innovation & productivity opportunities for the project and recommend step improvements.
- Provide expert advice based on technical experience and knowledge.
- Comply with all HS&E and quality policies and procedures.
Essential Attributes:
- Candidates must possess AQF qualifications in Project Management, preferably at AQF-5.
- You will be an enthusiastic, self motivated individual able to:
- Lead a project team in the delivery of telecommunications infrastructure build projects against time, quality, HS&E and cost objectives, using AQF processes.
- Manage contractors in line with business processes to meet project and business objectives.
- Work independently and in leadership/management roles in teams and contribute to team success by establishing successful relationships and partnerships.
- Understand the customer, stakeholders, their business and the organisational environment.
- Possess a sound working knowledge of the technology deployed in the Telstra network.
- Demonstrate a culture of improvement on your assigned projects
- Ability to assist in the preparation of key start up documentation such as scoping, project management plan, key stakeholder list, governance, responsibility assignment and project presentation pack.
- Possess an understanding of the technology deployed in the Telstra network.
- Ability to negotiate with management and decision makers both internally and externally.
- Possess high level organisational skills and the ability to solve problems through formal channels and informal networks.
- Possess high level of communications skills, including written, oral and PC - in particular Microsoft Office preferred.
- Demonstrate a sound knowledge of HS&E obligations and requirements.
