Design Supervisor

Our NT based client is currently looking for an experienced Design Supervisor to provide design services relating to the pre-construction phase of projects ranging from investigations, detailed design, drafting and tender documentation of road and civil works.

Role Responsibilities:
To provide design services ensuring ????? ????? and effective techniques are utilised and work unit objectives are met.
Supervise advice and guide new employees to ensure appropriate skill levels are developed and maintained.
To liaise with clearance and service authorities, government and the public to ensure the resolution of pre-construction issues.
Maintain a current knowledge of technical developments in design principles, standards and CAD applications.
Manage consultant contracts for the delivery of design services.
Work to commercial principles in a client based, fee for service environment.

Requirements:
A relevant qualification or experience in a field of technical work closely related to the duties of the role.
Substantial experience in all aspects of road design, drafting, estimating and tender document preparation with CAD applications.
Excellent communication skills
Problem solving and ingenuity.
A sound knowledge of relevant Australian design standards and a good understanding of road and civil construction practices are also highly desirable.
