With a UK head office, it continues to strive for excellence as it expands its operations throughout Asiapacific, Europe, and the US serving over 40,000,000 customers each year.
Due to continued expansion and development they seek a top quality Retail Operations Manager for their China business which is based in Beijing. The role has 2 direct reports (Sales Managers - North and South) and a headcount of approximately 100 employees which covers 16 stores, many of which operate from airport locations. Based on demand and future strategy the store and dollar turnover are likely to quadruple over the next 3 years.
Reporting back to the Sydney based Asia Pacific Retail Director, you will be responsible for all aspects of the business including continual enhancement of customer satisfaction; maximising revenue through effective team recruitment, management and training; expense control and administration; inventory management; KPI analysis and strategic and competitor awareness. Building and maintaining key relationships with major stake holders is also a significant aspect of the role.
The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate a track record of sales achievement and success in a senior Multi-site Management position such as State or Regional management and possess a sound understanding of general retail business practices. This could have been achieved in a high volume customer service environment such as specialty retail or fast food.
Key areas of importance include the ability to: communicate strategies and plans using everyday language and examples; inspire a sense of direction and purpose in others and manage using KPI’s and set objectives, as well as external and internal relationship management at an operational level.
Excellent influencing, negotiating and communications skills, high levels of personal confidence and self-sufficiency, proven time management, together with advanced financial and KPI analysis capabilities and exceptional change management skills are also important.
Further development and expansion of stores throughout China is a key function of the role and international career opportunities are a real possibility pending your success. The ability to speak Mandarin is seen as essential. The salary package includes an attractive negotiable base salary along with appropriate relocation expenses.
