Right now we seek a Junior Unix Administrator to join a world class consultancy. You will be part of a large IT team working on multiple exciting projects, these projects will vary in size and will give you the exposure and experience you have been looking for.
This position will play a key role in supporting the IT team and the Unix Administrative team,. Your main function as a Junior Unix Administrator will include assisting and maintaining key infrastructure systems, you will also assist in the designing and evaluating new solutions amongst other duties. You will be expected to have a thirst and motivation to learn, develop your skills and experience to a senior level.
Ideally we will be looking for the following:
- Knowledge and experience working as a Unix Administrator at a junior level
- Experience and exposure to a UNIX based operating systems, more specifically Sun Solaris
- A key drive for success and highly motivated by technology
- A solid understanding of networking/distributed computing environment concepts
We will also be looking for candidates that have a degree in computer science, commercial experience in a systems administration position. An understanding or exposure to ITIL best practices will be advantageous.
