Turnbull Hill Lawyers is one of the Hunter region’s leading law firms and we are currently seeking a full time Legal Secretary to join our Commercial Litigation team based in Charlestown.
Reporting directly to the Commercial Litigation Partner we require an experienced legal secretary with the following capabilities:
Essential
- Exceptional ability to gauge and respond to client needs by being able to understand and explain the key issues of their matter without reference to the Partner wherever possible
- Thorough familiarity with precedents and practices applied in various courts under the Uniform Civil Procedure Act 2005
- Pro-active in keeping track of court matters and assisting the Partner to meet necessary deadlines
- Ability to manage the Partner's diary including travel arrangements where necessary
- A professional manner when dealing with both internal and external clients
- Excellent time management skills including the ability to filter telephone calls, allocate priorities, multi-task and organise files
- Exceptional eye for detail which extends to producing high quality work
- High level of proficiency with MS Word, Excel and a precedent based document management system
Desirable
- Familiarity with Locus Affinity document management system
- Familiarity with Corporate Insolvency would be advantageous
