Technical Writer

 

• 3 month contract with possibility of extension

My client, a large, intricate Government Department in Canberra is seeking a Technical Writer for a 3 month contract with the possibility of extension. This is a great opportunity to be involved in the researching, compiling, writing, illustrating, editing, reviewing and testing a wide range of specialist ICT documents for technical and non technical audiences.

The successful Technical Writer will be required to:

• Develop and maintain ICT Design and Operational technical
• Consult with stakeholders to confirm business requirements, user requirements and technical specifications.
• Develop functional performance specifications
• Assist in support  maintenance process mapping
• Assist in change management procedure mapping
• Develop user guides, training material  online help
• Assist in development of system administration manuals
• Develop document standards, templates, style guides and control mechanisms.

To be suitably qualified for this Technical Writer role you will have:

• In-depth experience working in secure ICT environments.
• Ability to document complex ICT tasks as a sequence of logical and clear procedural steps
• Excellent skills in writing, illustrating and editing ICT design documents for technical and non-technical audiences
• Knowledge and experience in developing ICT Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and manuals.
• Very good skills in using Microsoft Office, Adobe products and other text, graphics, and publishing packages.
• Good knowledge of ITIL and Prince II concepts
