A great opportunity has become available for an APS 3 Service Desk Operator to join a reputable Government Agency.

Working within the Network Services Branch, you will assist in the function and technical operations of the nation-wide secure communications and computer networks (MCN & CABNet) and the Canberra wide fibre optic network (ICON). These networks deliver secure communication services to the Ministers of the Federal Government and their portfolio departments and agencies.

Your individual role within the NSB will include the processing and logging of service jobs and responding to customer enquires via incoming calls and emails.

Your primary duties include:

• Ensuring ????? ????? are logged and managed within the ITIL framework


• Maintaining the CABNet computer systems


• Undertake ICON Service Desk related tasks


• Monitor the Helpdesk and ICON mailboxes and action emails appropriately


• Liaison with the client base to ensure their systems are fully operational


• Develop close working relationships with internal and external stakeholders


• Other ad hoc duties as requested

This is a 6 month non-ongoing position located in Hume. In order to apply for this position you must be a fast learner who is IT savvy. You will demonstrate a confident phone manner and be an efficient processor.

It is essential that you have Level One IT Service Help Desk experience as a minimum in order to apply for this position.

You must be an Australian Citizen ideally holding a Secret Clearance in order to apply for this position. If you do not have the clearance you must be eligible and willing to apply and gain the clearance.
