Protective Security Advisers – Canberra Based

  • It’s no secret that ASIO is here to protect Australia from terrorism and espionage. Intelligence gathering ????? ????? focus. Working within a complex security environment, you’ll soon discover there is something more to this role.

    As part of our Protective Security team, you’ll interpret and apply judgement to the widest variety of situations – providing protective security advice to government departments, critical infrastructure owners and other clients.
     
    You’ll be involved in all aspects of protective security, from risk reviews and physical security certifications through to evaluation of security service providers. Setting the standard for others to follow, you may also assist in the delivery of key security training to government agencies and consultants.
     
    It’s demanding work. But that makes it all the more fulfilling. Whether you’re already in government, or you’re in the private sector providing security consultation to government departments, you’ll specialise in protective security or security risk management. You should hold relevant qualifications or have received training in physical, personnel and administrative security.
     
    As a confident communicator, you will be dealing with people across all levels, including senior officials of both government and non-government clients. Although not essential, a tertiary qualification in security or risk management may be an advantage.
