Department of the SenateThe department provides the Senate, its committees, the President of the Senate and senators with a broad range of advisory and support services.Casual Parliamentary EducatorAustralian Parliamentary Service Level 6$73,355 to $80,467 pro rataProcedure Offi ceParliamentary Education Offi ceWorking within a small team of creative and motivated staff, the principal activity of a Casual Parliamentary Educator is to present teaching programs to school groups visiting Parliament House. These programs are designed to assist young Australians to understand the work of the House of Representatives, the Senate and their committees and are delivered using role-play techniques in simulated chamber settings. Following induction, training is provided to assist individuals to deliver programs to the required standard.A Casual Parliamentary Educator attends the PEO on an as required basis and typically would deliver a number of hour-long programs on a given day in the PEO Education Centre at Parliament House. A Casual Parliamentary Educator may also be asked to assist with the development of PEO resources, and general administrative tasks. This position requires the person to gain and maintain a nil response to a Police Record Check for working with children. A Police Record Check will occur at engagement. A Police Record Check will also occur at regular intervals during ????? ?????.This is a casual position that requires the employee work on an as required basis.
