Project Officer, Security Accreditation – Canberra Based

  • It’s no secret that ASIO is here to protect Australia from terrorism and espionage. Intelligence gathering ????? ????? focus. Working within a complex security environment, you’ll soon discover there is something more to this role.

    ASIO is partnering ????? ????? Department of Finance and Deregulation to design and build ASIO’s new headquarters. As a member of this major building project, you will work closely with the Assistant Director of Security and the broader project team to achieve a full security accreditation of the new building. You will assist with achieving the design goals and ensure key design outcomes are met.
     
    Close liaison with internal stakeholders and a broad range of external authorities associated with the project, including accreditation authorities will be part of a typical day for you. You will assist with the requirements to achieve accreditation including the management of meetings and inspections and work on other project security related matters as required.
     
    Ideally you will have practical or policy experience with one or a number of these guidelines:-
      • Commonwealth Protective Security Manual (PSM);
      • Inter-Agency Security Manual (ISM);
      • T4 Protective Security guidelines;
      • Australian Communication Security Instructions (ASCI); and
      • DCID Security Specifications.
     
    Qualifications in security risk management or similar are essential to this role. Training or experience in project management would be highly regarded. You will need to be able to understand multiple and often conflicting requirements, and look for solutions where possible. High level oral and written skills, coupled with the ability to accurately document work will see you as a key candidate for this role.
     
    This role will give you the opportunity to work on a project of national significance, specialist design on a scale rarely seen in Canberra.
