The Faculty of Business and Law is seeking an outstanding academic leader to provide strong and innovative leadership for the Deakin Business School.  The Deakin Business School provides major postgraduate business programs including MBA courses and an Executive Development program.

The Faculty of Business and Law comprises of five Schools; it is one of four faculties within Deakin University and one of the largest of its kind in Australia with undergraduate and postgraduate students studying on campus in Melbourne, Geelong and Warrnambool, or by distance throughout Australia and internationally.

The appointee will be responsible for:

• leading strategic directions and managing operational aspects of the School, including staffing, teaching and learning, research, resource management and general administration
• developing and implementing an annual School work plan
• leading new research directions in the School to advance the University's research plans
• facilitating research links between the School, industry, government and other relevant areas within the University
• coordinating the development and delivery of on-campus and off-campus teaching programs with particular attention to the University's commitment to distance education, lifelong learning, equity and access, and the application of flexible delivery and on line teaching techniques
• promoting the School and its teaching and research programs within relevant professions, business and within the wider community
