Position Purpose:
This position liaises with Divisional and Faculty teaching and learning staff to provide responsive and proactive teaching and learning professional development, leadership and capability and capacity building services. The role will also be responsible for contributing specialised technical knowledge and expertise to teaching and learning projects and websites as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Design, develop, maintain and facilitate training, professional development and support programs and resources to enhance teaching and learning at Deakin University.
- Provide specialist technical knowledge and expertise to the planning, design, development and maintenance of teaching and learning websites.
- Coordinate and/or be responsible for contributing specialist technical knowledge and expertise to teaching and learning projects to agreed standards within project deadlines.
- Provide responsive capability and capacity building services to staff related to teaching, learning and unit and course design and development through the ITL Support Service.
- Contribute to the success of the communication strategy of the Institute.
Typical Duties:
- Design, develop and provide face to face and online training and professional development programs and resources in collaboration with other ITL staff and Faculty staff for a range of aspects of teaching and learning as required by the Educational Development Coordinator.
- Provide specialist technical knowledge and expertise to the planning, design, development and maintenance of teaching and learning websites as required by the Website Development Coordinator.
- Coordinate and/or contribute specialised technical knowledge and expertise to teaching and learning projects as required as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Provide responsive capability and capacity building services to staff of the University regarding design and development of units and courses, including the use of eLearning technologies through the ITL Support Service.
- Contribute specialist technical knowledge and expertise to strategic teaching and learning development projects in collaboration with Faculty and Divisional staff.
- Research and evaluate new e-Learning technologies.
- Enhance knowledge of current practices and future opportunities in flexible education.
- Other duties as required by the Manager – Planning, Coordination and Communication.
