Production Manager/ Desktop Publisher – Canberra Based

    ASIO’s in-house classified printing and publishing area is responsible for the delivery of vast ranging printing and publishing services, including document production, graphic design and web publishing. As a key member of this team, you will have responsibility for the logging and management of publishing requests, desktop publishing, project administration and general publishing assistance.
     
    Working to tight deadlines you will manage tasks with a strong focus on regular client interaction and service delivery. Within a constantly changing work environment, you’ll use task tracking software to manage tasks according to organisational priorities and as such re-prioritisation of tasks will be a regular feature of your workday. You’re proficiency with Adobe Creativesuite will be utilised as you work to style guides, client briefs and creative direction from the graphic designer and assistant director. Assisting with administrative duties around larger production tasks and projects, you’ll regularly liaise with a broad range of stakeholders and provide advice on ASIO and government publishing standards.
     
    As a self-starter, with good interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work effectively in a small publishing team, you’ll continually provide a high level of service.
     
    A technical trade within the publishing industry and demonstrated desktop publishing capabilities are essential for this role. Ideally you will have industry experience in production management within a mostly digital print facility. Your good working knowledge of digital and lithographic production techniques incorporating both in-line and off-line document finishing will also set you apart.
