    Curtin Vocational Training and Education Centre (VTEC) delivers a wide range of training to individuals and community groups, along with highly specialised training to industry. VTEC offers a variety of vocational courses, from Certificate to Advanced Diploma level, as well as short courses, all of which are industry endorsed and nationally accredited.

    About the Opportunity

    An opportunity exists for a Trainer in Metal Fabrication to work from VTEC's Kalgoorlie Campus.

    The primary focus of the role is the delivery of high-quality training in Metal Fabrication to a range of clients, including apprentices.

    Applicants require a recognised, relevant trade qualification, plus relevant vocational experience within the Metal Fabrication industry. Most important is the desire and drive to teach others, helping them learn about the metal fabrication trades. You will receive extensive support from VTEC, along with a range of professional development and career advancement opportunities.

    The successful candidate will enjoy an attractive starting salary circa $57,237 - $67,935 per annum, PLUS superannuation, PLUS district allowance, PLUS subsidised housing and settling-in costs! (Please note, subsidised housing and settling-in costs are subject to eligibility).

    Specific benefits include:
    • A generous settling-in allowance for you and your immediate family;
    • Payment of travelling costs for you and your family to move to Kalgoorlie, including a relocation allowance;
    • Possibility of government housing (which amounts to a saving for staff of approximately $15,000 per annum, per family), with the average rent price being $160 per week;
    • District allowance of up to $2200 per year; and
    • 30 days annual leave, plus two travel days, Christmas shutdown period, all public holidays and an annual travel allowance.
