Scientific Programmer

Purpose of the Role
This position will provide high level scientific data analysis and programming services, web delivery, and/or GIS support for a range of R&D projects in the areas of climate system research, information and knowledge products and climate impacts and applications for the Queensland Climate Change Centre of Excellence (QCCCE).
 
Key Duties
  • Work with the QCCCE’s web manager to improve QCCCE’s LongPaddock website whilst maintaining its capacity for automated updating of information.  
  • Develop, implement and monitor strategies for web based reporting to provide clients with useful, timely and accessible knowledge, data and reports.
  • Improve client access to climate and natural resource datasets and analyses and assist and advise other scientific and policy staff as required.
  • Manipulate large climate data sets to prepare accurate and high-quality graphical output for written and web-based scientific and policy reports.
