It’s no secret that ASIO’s purpose is to protect Australia from security threats including terrorism and espionage. Intelligence gathering ????? ????? are our focus. Working within a complex security environment, you’ll soon discover there is much more to our role.

As a member of ASIO’s Legal Division, you’ll manage high profile and sensitive legal matters, the likes of which you won’t find anywhere else. We provide advice on a range of unique and complex security issues, as well as litigation-related advice within the administrative law, criminal and civil jurisdictions.

 

The nature of our work means added challenge, heightened interest and a more intriguing environment in which to develop your legal career. As a senior lawyer in ASIO, you’ll provide legal advice on a wide range of matters, often within tight timeframes. Ideally, you will have commercial law expertise and/or civil or criminal litigation experience, excellent analytical and negotiation skills and a demonstrated commitment to providing excellent legal advice.
