Salary: PM3 ($98,652 - $122,943) 9/10 day fortnight
As a Corporate Lawyer – Legal Risk and Strategy, you will be responsible for a strategic overview of major legal issues and risks across Ergon Energy. This will include considering ????? ????? workable solutions to legal risk management which are commercially focussed and aligned with Ergon Energy’s business objectives and priorities, without exposing Ergon Energy to an unacceptable level of legal risk.
Additionally working in conjunction with the Group Legal Counsel, actively engaging and influencing the relevant stakeholders and personnel within Ergon Energy in relation to these issues and providing and implementing recommendations to the business.
More specifically, your duties will include:
- Proactively identify, assess and manage legal risks and issues within our business, consider and devise possible legal risk mitigation options, recommend and implement changes and improvements within the business to mitigate legal risks.
- Identifying changes to all legislation and policies applicable to Ergon Energy’s business and review and provide legislative and policy updates. .
- Implementing a process whereby personnel within Ergon Energy are aware of and clearly understand the relevant legal issues that will arise through out the daily functions of their roles.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- A Bachelor degree in Law.
- An admission to practice as a Solicitor in Queensland.
- Desirable would be a commercial, business or economics related qualification.
- Proven knowledge and capabilities with post admission experience together with a proven commercial business background outside a legal role.
- Professional knowledge of all relevant laws, relevant experience in the legal profession, a capacity to exercise the highest standards of confidentiality, ethics and sound judgement, and also maintain a high customer service ethic.

Salary Information:
This position has been evaluated as Professional & Managerial Grade 3. Remuneration will be up to $122,943 per annum. The grade and level of payment will be subject to an assessment of the successful applicant’s knowledge, skills and competencies that are required in this position. Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Ergon Energy Union Collective Agreement 2008.
