    Salary: PM3 ($98,652 - $122,943) 9/10 day fortnight
     
    This is your chance to join a large regionally dispersed electricity network, in a diverse and challenging role. As a Corporate Lawyer with Ergon Energy, you will be responsible for the day to day commercial legal functions over a number of business units across the organisation, including the assessment and management of legal risks.
     
    Primarily you will proactively manage the provision of legal services encompassing operational and high level strategic advice, guidance and counsel, whilst also ensuring ????? ????? risk within Ergon Energy is appropriately managed in partnership with other key stakeholders both internally and externally.
     
    More specifically, your duties will include:
    • Managing the provision of high quality, timely consultation and legal advice which is commercially focussed and solutions based.
    • Providing strategic and proactive partnering ????? ????? to legal issues across various business units and at all organisational levels within Ergon Energy.
    • Taking necessary steps to enable compliance by Ergon Energy with the relevant legal requirements, identify and analyse key legal risks in relation to core and strategic business activities and transitions.
    • Implementing a rigorous legal sign-off process relating to core and strategic business activities and issues, so as to protect Ergon Energy’s legal position.
    • Overseeing the negotiation, drafting and settlement of a variety of commercial contracts, policies and procedures covering ????? ????? and complex range of issues.
    To be successful in this role you will have:
    • A Bachelor degree in Law.
    • An admission to practice as a Solicitor in Queensland.
    • Desirable would be a commercial or business related qualification.
    • Proven knowledge and capabilities with post admission experience primarily in commercial and governmental law areas.
    • Professional knowledge of all relevant laws, relevant experience in the legal profession, a capacity to exercise the highest standards of confidentiality, ethics and sound judgement, and also maintain a high customer service ethic.

    Salary Information:
    This position has been evaluated as Professional & Managerial Grade 3. Remuneration will be up to $122,943 per annum. The grade and level of payment will be subject to an assessment of the successful applicant’s knowledge, skills and competencies that are required in this position. Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Ergon Energy Union Collective Agreement 2008.
