Manager Climate Change (2 years Fixed Term)
Location: Brisbane or Major Regional QLD Centre (Cairns, Townsville, Mackay, Rockhampton, Maryborough or Toowoomba)
This is your chance to embrace a role of a diverse nature, which covers a wide range of issues incorporating climate change strategies and response to the climate change agenda. Your primary focus will be to lead and guide the business by incorporating legislation, industry standards and best practice into strategic direction and operations. Proactive, credible and influential, you will lobby various government and regulatory bodies in order to achieve strategic outcomes, whilst also championing climate change and sustainability for the business across all levels of the organisation.
More specifically, your duties will include:
- Managing the planning, development and implementation of the climate change strategy within Ergon Energy, ensuring ????? ????? in alignment with business strategy and direction and Ergon Energy’s Climate Smart Response Plan.
- Maintaining current knowledge on relevant legislation, industry standards and best practice, liaising with government departments and industry leaders were appropriate.
- Undertaking climate change planning activities with each business unit to identify business and industry trends.
- Briefing Executives and Senior Managers within ergon Energy on climate change and response highlighting links with the business strategy.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Degree qualifications in a Business Communications discipline, Management or related equivalent.
- Desirable would be Degree qualifications in Climate Change, Environmental Management or Sustainability Development.
- Demonstrated knowledge of current climate change issues and best practice response to climate change to ensure sustainability within an organisation.
- Demonstrated expertise in providing innovative solutions to climate change challenges and an ability to identify framework response for implementation.
- Have a strong commitment and proven influence to environmental, safety and cultural programs within organisations.

Salary Information:
This position has been evaluated as Professional & Managerial Grade 3. Remuneration potentially outside this salary range may be negotiated with the successful applicant subject to an assessment of the successful applicant's knowledge, skills and competencies as required by this position in conjunction with consideration of relevant and appropriate market data.
