One of our major clients in the public sector require the services of a Principal Engineer for Drainage, Waterways and Coastal Planning qualified in civil or environmental engineering ????? ????? a team of proven professionals who are committed to protecting the waterways of the Sunshine Coast community.
Based at the picturesque Sunshine Coast, you will be responsible for providing efficient and effective management of staff within the Unit. Actively address specific issues regarding the efficient performance of the Catchment Management Strategy and stormwater drainage functions as they arise and monitor the Unit's performance.
As a Principal Engineer you will ensure:
- As a key Council officer responsible for drainage, waterways and coastal management issues, and in consultation with other key Council staff, ensure that drainage, waterways and coastal management planning and design is in accordance with Council's Corporate Plan, Operational Plan and Policies
- Manages the Drainage, Waterways and Coastal Management Unit identifying desired outcomes, working under limited direction and exercises managerial responsibility
- Sets priorities, manages time, plans and organises own work and subordinate staff including supervision, monitoring, staff training and development to ensure timely and cost effective outcomes
- Investigates, compiles and presents complex strategic studies and reports on drainage, waterway and coastal management initiatives including State and Federal Funding Programs, planning, analysis and co-ordination of matters associated with the Region's coastal areas and waterways
- Assists the Manager, Infrastructure Planning and the Senior Manager, Infrastructure Management in providing professional advice on waterway and coastal management matters
