Client Services /Operations Manager

 



The role of the Operations Manager (OM) is to manage the day to day operations of the Kidney Support Network Inc. (KSN) and to ensure that programs and services are delivered in accordance with agreed timeframes and milestones.  A crucial element is for us to find someone with experience in working for not for profit and with largely a volunteer workforce.   OM will report to the Chief Executive Officer and support the Chief Executive Officer to implement the strategies and policies approved by the Management Committee. OM is a full time salaried position.  OM will also act as the Chief Executive Officer during ????? ?????’s absence. The ability to relate to kidney patients in a compassionate and caring ????? ????? to exercise discretion and maintain strict confidentiality is a key requisite of the position.

The role requires out of business hours work plus travel within Queensland as and when needed.  Regular visits to Gold Coast and Sunshine Coasts Transport Services is anticipated.  The role also requires an applicant to have a vehicle which is suitable for travel to KSN Branches and Support Groups within south east Queensland.  All travel and vehicle costs associated with KSN will be reimbursed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

OM is responsible for the day to day operations of KSN and to ensure that programs and services are delivered in accordance with agreed timeframes and milestones. Specific responsibilities of the position of OM include, but are not limited to, the following matters.

·        Ensure that KSN conducts its operations in accordance with law and in line with the overall strategies, goals and policies approved by the Management Committee.

·        Assist Management Committee and Chief Executive Officer as required in the development of KSN’s strategic positioning and its policies and procedures.

·        Develop and coordinate the delivery of new programs and services for KSN members.

·        Manage and coordinate the delivery of KSN’s current suite of services including patient transport with over 2,500 patient trips a month, patient accommodation, medical equipment/products, self-management programs, indigenous programs and patient holiday accommodation.

·        Prepare relevant reports of operations and statistical data to meet KSN’s legal obligations to Queensland Health and other funding bodies.

·        Effectively supervise, train and support staff and a large volunteer workforce to deliver approved programs and services on a daily basis to members.

·        Provide support for KSN Branches and Support Groups in the development and delivery of effective services to KSN’s regional membership.

·        Contribute to continuous improvement in programs and service operations.

·        Ensure compliance to Workplace Health and safety policies and procedures including the implementation and maintenance of safe work systems.

·        Liaise with Government Departments, associated businesses and community agencies to build relationships.

·        Knowledge of Qld Transport Community Transport Accreditation is desirable.

REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION

·        Eligibility for a Children’s Commission Suitability Notice/Blue Card  and satisfactory Queensland Police Services criminal history check.

·        Current Queensland Driver’s Licence

·        Queensland Transport Driver Authorisation (able to be obtained on employment)
