Work has begun on one of Queensland's most significant healthcare projects, The Gold Coast University Hospital and Bovis Lend Lease has a requirement for a Services Design Manager  for specific sections of the project.  

The Services Design Manager is responsible for bringing value added design solutions to the client and mechanical and electrical services design and construction knowledge to the project management team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the development of Construction Documentation for building services packages  
• Ensure the involvement of specialist support and manage external service providers
• Resolve client technical issues
•  Monitor and manage the mitigation of risks
• Maintain  the team approach to the project
• Maintain commitment to the Incident and Injury Free philosophy
• Ensure handover and acceptance of project and Incident and Injury Free strategy by the delivery team

 Criteria:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) or related discipline
• At least  2 to 3 years design or design  management experience of building services for large scale projects. Exposure to healthcare projects is an advantage but not essential
• A demonstrated track record in:
• Schematic and detailed design 
• Managing technical expectations
• Managing resources including specialist support services and external contract providers
• Determining project cost and pricing strategies
• Analysing risks and opportunities at design
