WPC Group, a not for profit organisation, are working in partnership with some of the worlds leading environment, engineering, science, community, planning and development organisations to create Green Traineeship and Apprenticeship opportunities across Queensland.
Simply, Green collar jobs are jobs that operate in environmental sectors of the economy but in order for us to reduce our carbon footprint, we need green skills in all jobs across all sectors to sustain our environment and move to a low carbon economy.
GreenSkills is a WPC Group initiative operating in Victoria and New South Wales and now Queensland.
Currently, we are seeking expressions of interest from people keen to commence a ‘green’ traineeship or apprenticeship in the following industries:
- Business Traineeships – environment & sustainability officers and administrative assistants
- Horticulture Apprenticeships
- Conservation and Land Management Traineeships
- Renewable Energy Electricians
- Building and Constructions Trades Apprenticeships – working on energy efficient and ‘green’ building sites
This is an exciting opportunity if you are passionate about the environment and seeking to develop skills as well as a qualification. No prior experience is necessary but you must be able to demonstrate a commitment to undertaking an apprenticeship (3-4 years) or a traineeship (1 year).
