Electrical Designer

Ideally you will be an experienced Technical Design Officer from a distribution company with strong communication skills. You will be responsible for the design, estimating and project management of overhead and underground distribution projects. This position will require you to also be responsible for minor survey works and asset recording with regard to distribution and sub-transmission assets.
Duties:
Produce major & minor designs for both HV and LV overhead and underground extensions including the installation of pole transformers, pad mount or outdoor transformers using standard substation drawings.
Prepare major & minor works plan drawings for the construction and maintenance of the distribution and street lighting systems.
Prepare cost estimates and accurate material lists for issue of materials to work groups and monitor job progress to reconciliation of completed work.
Provide technical advice in response to enquiries
Check and approve work for both internal and external designers.
Conduct Design feedback audits with construction coordinator and field staff.
Schedule resources and coordinate work team processes to effectively utilise resources to meet customer, financial and operational business objectives.
To be considered for this role you must demonstrate:
Experience with AutoCAD and Ellipse
A Certificate of Technology or equivalent Tertiary based qualification
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
