Our client is a leading resources organisation with major operations throughout Australia. Due to an exciting development, they are currently they are seeking a contract Project Accountant for a six month period to assist the on site finance team with a significant piece of work.
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the initial focus of the role will be the preparation of Audit work papers for multiple financial year ends. This will include reconciliations, asset movement schedules, lease liability schedules and compiling Audit folders, hard and soft copy, for distribution to auditors. Upon completion of this you will then be launch a process improvement phase incorporating the review of current reporting models and liaising with corporate to develop more automated reporting functionality from Finance 1. The key deliverables for this will be:
1) Review Budget model and provide recommendations for improvement. Implement recommendations and develop new model in Microsoft Excel.
2) Review Inventory processes and reports and develop recommendations for improvement.
Ideally you will be a CA/CPA qualified accountant with a foundation in Audit. You will have strong commercial accounting skills with experience within mining, resources or projects being highly desired. A good eye for detail and organisation skills are essential as is the ability to manipulate a large ERP system. Advanced Excel skills are mandatory for financial modelling requirements.
