Council for this picturesque rural shire seeks a middleweight Statutory Planner to fulfill a 3 month contract assisting with the processing of applications, planning appeals and general planning duties.
Degree qualified in Town Planning, you must have a strong understanding of Victorian planning schemes, legislation and policy, and enough experience working within local government in Victoria to hit the ground running, working on your own caseload of applications with minimum supervision.
Self-motivated and resourceful, you will be practiced in statutory approval processes for a wide range of land use and development applications. Providing high level customer service, technical and general planning advice to various stakeholders, you must have previous experience in the following:
- Evaluating and processing town planning applications
- Performing site visits to assist assessment of planning applications
- Preparing comprehensive and accurate planning application reports and appeal submissions
- Providing preliminary planning advice to applicants and conducting pre-application meetings
- Counter and telephone enquiries
