The Faculty of Education is one of the largest Faculties of Education in Australia with over 5500 students and 140 academic and general staff. The Faculty offers a wide range of courses in teacher education, information studies and human movement studies and is recognised internationally for the quality and diversity of their distance education programs.
The School of Teacher Education is an innovative and forward-looking group of scholars who are committed to the preparation of high quality teachers for early-childhood, primary and secondary settings - particularly for schools disadvantaged by the experience of geographical and socio-economic inequality. The School operates across two campuses, at Bathurst and Dubbo and staff in both locations share a strong commitment to social justice, environmental sustainability, the valuing of difference and ongoing inquiry into professional practice.
Located in the School of Teacher Education the successful applicant will provide leadership in research and teaching in Literacy Education. The appointee will teach, coordinate and develop subjects at pre-service, in-service and post-graduate levels, both on-campus and in a distance education mode. As an energetic and experienced academic they will contribute actively to the scholarly life of the School and have a commitment to research and professional development. The supervision and mentoring ????? ????? in pre-service professional experience will be expected.
